Hey guys. So there's been some talk about doing another Original Series Contest in which you guys would be teamed up and you would write an original show and compete. I'm wondering if the environment is right for participation - so please let me know what you guys are able to do as another contest is more dependent on you guys taking part in it, rather than me planning it out.

I wasn't here for the first one, is it basically; we all write a pilot for a series of our own creation. Then we vote for the best one and it gets continued with in a similar way to the Lost S6 WC?
Or do the original writers have some input into the plot/ characters & whatnot?

Squash - the last OSC was based on teams.
More or less, everyone who wants to participate is evenly divided into teams. Then, together, you write a pilot and make it into a series.
The last OSC never made it far enough, but the idea was that down the line, a series would get "cancelled". Then another, then another, until one wins. And if your own show got cancelled, you'd be allowed to join one of the surviving teams and keep writing for their show.
(Correct me if I'm wrong, former judges. Also the new OSC might be entirely different so who knows...)

Good to see many of you ar interested, though I hope to see even more. Anyways I will write up some rules tonight and get things planned out. A lot of it will just copy from OSC2.

Ahhh, I think I stated this elsewhere but I will be unable to participate for the OSC II. No way, no how, sorry. I would love to, but I'd rather devote my extra time to the shows I'm currently writing and the projects I'm currently planning to release in the near future. Sorry, but count me out. But the first OSC was a great fun, I really enjoyed it. This is nothing against the OSC, just because I simply won't have any time. |
