My brother's girlfriend gave me this short story recent Christmas in a picture frame along with a candle in the shape of a Lotus. I just couldn't believe how well it matched my life and I can't believe she gave me this. I just wanted to share this because I felt touched by these words. Well, here's a couple pics of a Lotus flower and what my candle looks like :
The Lotus
The lotus begins its journey at the floor of a muddy pond. Most flowers would shrivel and cease if dealt these unfavorable conditions. Yet, the lotus continues to struggle towards the sun. Once the lotus overcomes the murky water and breaks the surface, it blooms into a beautiful flower that is pure. The lotus is now open to beauty as well as light. The bloom symbolizes great spiritual enlightenment and truth.
Many of us encounter circumstances or individuals in life who wish to pull us further down into the muddy waters and stifle our inner-growth. It is at this time when we can borrow a lesson from the lotus flower. In this lesson we achieve honesty, peace and inner-strength.
