I need some help- some professional help What do you guys recommend I take as my electives for next year, and the year after? We got our choices today, and I have about a week to decide. I need to choose 3 electives out of: Agriculture Technology Commerce Dance Drama Food Technology Graphics Technology Information and Software Technology Industrial Technology- Timber Industrial Technology- Metal Japanese Physical Activity and Sports Studies Elective Textiles Technology Visual Arts I'm thinking Food Technology and Info and Software, but I don't have a third- and we're only allowed to pick a maximum of two electives that have the word "Technology" in them, so my third can't be anything "Technology". I can't decide a third- can anyone help, or make some suggestions for me?!? btw, I hate Timber, Metal and Graphics, so don't suggest them- there's no way I'm taking them.

I took drama before. It was an easy "A", (at least for me it was easy.)

Yeah, I'd go for either DRAMA or VISUAL ARTS.

Well, what do you want to be when you grow up. I want to be a teacher/author/screenwriter *one of the three* So I took two acting classes, a psych class and a writing class. I suggest you take a look at what you want to do when you're all grown up and figure out what will look best on a college transcript.

Dom said it perfectly. But drama is fun. Not to mention you can do what I did, which was too convince my drama teacher to write a play for the class.. Maybe you can do a play on a Golden Beach episode..!

My school doesn't have a screenwriting class (I'm working on it though. ) so I took two Acting classes to supplement- in the class description it said, "Students will write their own one act play and perform it as their final" which I did and got an A on! ;D

I would get bagged so much at my school if I had to do some kind of musical or dramatic performance, but mum is urging me to take Drama, because it involves scriptwriting/reading and all that as part of the course, so it would help me out in a writing career when I'm older...I'm thinking of being an author, and writing for a TV show wouldn't be too bad, either...

My suggestions would be....
A. Drama - Especially if your school focuses on performing arts, you'll form a bond with your fellow classmates that you'll carry outside of school. You'll grow into a tight-knit group of friends and learn a lot in the process. I'm an actor and everytime I write I look at it from an actor's and a screenwriter's point of view. How would an actor portray this?
B. Information and Software Technology - It's kind of a no-brainer on why this is a suggestion of mine. We live in a technological world and the more we know, the better.
C. Japanese - Being bi-lingual or tri-lingual is really important in getting jobs in the future. If you speak more languages then a person equally qualified, 90% of the time, that job is yours.
