After a brief conversation with Danielle Panabaker at the airport last night, it made me realize that I have a bit of a knack for meeting celebrities, which is weird because I'm not from New York or LA or any place crazy like that. What about you guys - who have you met/encountered in real life? Other celebs I've met: Christina Aguilera (suuuper short) Enrique Iglesias Phil Collins (dude is cool as hell, I wished him a happy birthday so he chatted my ear off) Toni Braxton Edward James Olmos ...little backstory behind that is Disney recruited a bunch of local high school drummers to come perform in the Super Bowl XXXIV Halftime Show. Awesome experience, terrible costumes. Check me out at 4:41, I'm the guy in the center: All of you are now sworn to secrecy after seeing that. Violations will result in death. Others I've met: Neil Patrick Harris at Disney World in 1992 (back when he was still known as Doogie Howser instead of Barney Stinson) Mark Richt - coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. I went to an Hawaiian luau in his backyard and played basketball with his son. Bunch of Georgia football players, if you count them (they did go on to the NFL) - David Greene, David Pollack, Fred Gibson, Greg Blue - I had classes with them in college. Krandel Lee Newton - this guy was a popular artist in the 80's and 90's. His drawings were selling for hundreds of dollars a piece. My mom convinced him to do one of our entire family for 20 bucks. A couple local radio personalities. Geraldo Rivera while he was covering a story at my forward operating base in Afghanistan. I didn't actually talk to him though.

I love Danielle Panabaker! She seems like she'd be such a sweetheart. That's awesome, Blake! You seem like you are pretty lucky -- Is Christina nice in person? She's hot.
If anyone ever meets Maggie Grace, be sure to mention me. <3

Christina was very nice. This was back in her 'good girl' days. She was very chatty with all of us drummers because we thought she was super hot haha.

Daniel Craig Mads Mikkelsen Peter Stormare Gustaf Skarsgård (actor, younger brother of Alexander) Björn Andersson (one of the B's in ABBA) Kirsten Dunst when she was here making Melancholia Bob Dylan just a couple of days ago ... And a lot of swedish celebreties. I'm living in the capitol, so I see more or less famous people every day, but none of em worth mentioning here

A few ESPN celebrities (I did some IT consulting there a few years ago) Chris Berman, nice guy. Dan Patrick, arrogant a-hole. Linda Cohn, had a nice conversation with her once.
Bill Murray (met him at the Traveler's Golf Open a few years ago) John Corbett (went to my high school) Rocky Blier (former Steeler running back, met him at a convention once in Pittsburgh, got an autograph picture of him)

I've not really met many people except for Sheridan Smith (a British actress) and, oh yeah, there was that time I went to 10 Downing Street and drank tea and ate cucumber sandwiches with Tony Blair PM and his wife ^^

Oh, two more I forgot to add: Parvati Shallow - winner of Survivor. We went to high school together. Melanie Moore - current contestant on So You Think You Can Dance. One of my sister's friends.
...but they're famous from reality TV so... yeah...

Oh I thought of one story I forgot to share...
So The Vampire Diaries is filmed here in Atlanta, and the actors pop up from time to time. Well I was driving around with some of my friends and we heard on the radio that the cast was going to be making an appearance at Hot Topic in the mall, so we decided to check it out. When we got there, there was a line of about 5,000 teenage girls wrapped the entire length of the mall. Me and one of my friends were like, screw this, we want to see what the fuss is about. So we just skipped the entire line of obsessing, squealing girls and walked right into Hot Topic! It was hilarious, no one stopped us or even said one word to us.
Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and Paul Wesley were in there signing autographs. We didn't get in line or anything, but me and Boone... I mean Ian... just kind of exchanged a "what's up?" head nod. And after staring at the gorgeous Nina Dobrev for a couple minutes, we left. Moral of the story, don't be an annoying teenage girl.

Out of curiosity (and honestly not because I'm trying to show off, because those I have met aren't HUGE stars) but what celebrities have you met in your lifetimes? I met Bernard Cribbins about two years ago at a BAFTA shindig. He was actually amazing and he acted like I was a five year old kid who needed entertaining... I loved it <3 Same night, I ambushed Catherine Tate as she came out of the toilet. I said something along the lines of "you look stunning" to which she replied, "Oh I like you. You'll go far in this life" followed by a chuckle. She was absolutely lovely and sweet and she told me to bring my sister over to her table later for a picture. Same night I met a personal hero (I'd studied a play he had been in, and his portrayal of the British colonel in "The Patriot" inspired every badguy I've ever written), Mr Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The Patriot, Armageddon, Black Hawk Down). Currently he's off being absolutely amazing in "Awake" (which is a fantastic show. All watch it). He was such a gent. Really lovely man. <3 I also met some other celebs that night. No one that note worthy. Michelle Ryans (best known to America as the failed Bionic Woman), Richard Hammond, etc. I ran into Anthony Stewart Head (Buffy, Merlin) at a play. He was so fucking cool. I wondered up to him and told him, "Buffy made my childhood. Thank you." But the number one Celeb I've ever met is.... I saw Matthew Fox in a show on the West End. Fantastic performance by him. I honestly thought I'd just be watching Jack on stage, but no. Matthew exploded in this role and was terrific. It was his final show before returning to America too. He came out the stage door after (I'd fought my way to the front). You could tell he was tired and wanted to go home. I remember from interviews that he was a private person and doesn't like the publicity that comes with fame. So whilst everyone else was rushing him and generally being cunts, I casually shoved my theatre ticket for him to sign and said, "Matthew, big fan. Please remember this beard because I'll be directing you in about five to six years time. Just writing the script now dude." He looked up, met my eye, and grinned so wide. Like this----- He chucked and was like, "is that so?". Fucking best moment of my life haha. You can see by the picture though, he was tired as hell and wanted to get away. Anyways, how about you lot?

That's a very unflattering and unshaved me with Trevor Moore of Whitest Kids U Know. My ugly self with Timmy, also of WKUK fame. Got all of their autographs and sat front row at their live show. Funniest moment of my life.
