Pokémon Black Version & White Version 2 is officially out worldwide! Woooo!

Anyone else still play these games (any of them - not just the newer ones...)?  Figured I'd share my teams

I need to buy a new DS. I missed out on Diamond and Pearl and B&W. D&P never interested me though. I didn't look that good from the thousands of previews and Japanese playthroughs I saw on youtube.

That being said, even though B&W looked a lot more fun, I'm not a huge fan of the more cartoony silly looking Poké's. For me Generation 2 and 3 are the best. Ruby and Sapphire just perfect games. <3

Gen 4 is definitely the weakest imo, Diamond/Pearl/Platinum just fell a bit flat to me although they're still strong games. HeartGold & SoulSilver are very top notch though, excellent remakes. Even better than the originals.

I'm personally a Gen 1/Gen 3/Gen 5 lover. Some of the Gen 2 designs bug me a bit, especially the starters, but they're all excellent games imo.

I think my big issue with B&W designs is the (semi deliberate, I suppose) fact that they are mostly rehashes of generation one. I get that B&W was for a new generation and was taking Pokémon back to its roots, but being selfish as an old fan, I wanted Pokémon designs that were out of this world and completely different to generations gone before.

So glad B&W2 has a mash up of all Pokédex's (300 Pokémon in total)?

Also with B&W2, coming out in Autumn?! Isn't that the quickest turn around for a world wide release?!

Yeah it is! Definitely better than having to wait until March-ish like usual!

The idea of many rehashes was definitely deliberate in the Unova dex, it was meant to be like a Kanto "remake" of sorts, which is why there were no old Pokemon in it at all. Some of them definitely didn't work, but every generation has its duds -- even the first one (how uncreative are Grimer/Muk, Magnemite/Magneton, Diglett/Dugtrio?).

And I agree, the B2W2 dex is looking snazzy. Pokemon from all generations, and yeah 300 total. I love the confirmed Pokemon so far, so I'm excited to see who else makes it.

Agreed about Gen 4. Not enough cute pokemon for me to collect haha. I did like that it added evolutions to previous generations though, I felt like that connection was missing for Gen 5 (not a massive fan of those ones either).

Gold/Silver definitely my favourite. I actually got Crystal for Christmas, aaah memories.

Has Black and White 2 actually got a new story? Not sure if I can be bothered to buy/play it again.

It's a sequel to Black and White and the story continues 2 years after.  There are 3 new gym leaders, taking a new path through Unova, a new Champion, and 300 Pokemon total in the regional 'Dex.  I'd say it's worth a purchase if you want to see where the story from the original games ends up next.

The OP is what my team is going to look like when I complete the game and what's in my sig is my current team. :3

So far, I just need to evolve my current members all the way, and then catch Seviper and it'll match up.

So I picked up Black 2, and I've decided to do something different. I'm not going to use mah starter. (DUN DUN DUUUUN).

So yeah, I'm early on in the game and dis' be mah team so far:

Got my 6th badge, Pignite's evolved and I caught a Skorupi (swapped Seviper out, figured I'd use him for the eventual Ruby/Sapphire remakes and go for a dual-typed Poison I've never used before). =)

CoroCoro is starting to leak. The first leak - Ninfia (Japanese name) - a new evolution of Eevee!! Looks like a Flying-type to me. I actually really like the design!!

I wonder if there will be any more leaks from CoroCoro?! Will keep my eyes peeled!

So excited that they're going to include older Generations, it's what I felt was missing form B&W (don't kill me Johno!)
Yeah I think flying and fighting are gonna be the new Eeveeloutions (It just autocorrected that to Evaluations if anyone is interested).

Also over my Reading Week I decided to breed me ol' pokemon to have the right natures. And are now retraining them. That's how exciting my life is atm.

Oh, I agree. Including older gen's makes it feel more wholesome, I think.

I was thinking that, since every Eeveelution has included a new form of evolution, they could introduce gender-based ones that require an item. So say you had a female Eevee and some sort of new item (the Sky Bow we'll call it). Level it up while holding this new item and it evolves into Sylveon/Ninfia. And then had another Eeveelution you level up with the Pebble Stone, evolving it into a Ground-type Eeveelution. It would represent the Heavens and the Earth maybe? I dunno. It just seems logical to me considering the X/Y theme the game's got going on and the fact that Sylveon's bows resemble two X's (the female chromosome count ), so then the male evolution would have an X and a Y item on its body for the male chromosome count.

But I honestly think, even though we got a pair of Eevee's in every even-numbered generation after the first, we'll only get one new Eevee just because they're advertising Sylveon so much, why would they ignore the other Eevee? We'll see what happens ^_^

I've never done proper nature training and EV/IV training! As obsessive as I am about Pokemon, it just seemed like a lot of work. But I'm sure it was worth it, how's your team looking now?
