Yeah it's such a hassle 
I got those bands (Power Band, Power Lens etc) that boost it as they level up which makes a MASSIVE difference. Especially at the lower levels if you use those they have about double the stats of ordinary ones.
In terms of changes I'm getting a Technician Persian to replace the Cinccino. And then possibly replace Braviary if there are any cool Gen 6 normals.
Hopefully there will be some amazing normal/something combination!
And that's a really interesting concept about the new evolution process.
I mean we've had the use of stones, time of day and being in a certain area.
Gender does seem really relevant with the xy, and I think you've probably gotten it right, but they might come up with some completely new mechanic. Who knows?
Oh and a Ground type Eevee sounds way better than Fighting. Or Rock.
I mean theres a lot of talk about Ghost and Dragon types but I really doubt they'll be added. I just can't picture it.
