Americans need to stop remaking stuff and make do with British originals. I just think it's standard America wanting to try and outdo something and then take the glory. You might have higher production values but this is just.....NO.

Seriously, I adore the Inbetweeners. It's fucking hilarious and even though it's incredibly British, I'm sure Americans would get most of the humour. WHY LORD, Y U LET THEM DO THIS?!

Literally I feel that Americans can't do true black comedy, they just don't get it. I mean, the whole frisbee into the learning disabled person was hilarious in the original because it shouldn't be. Here it's someone on crutches and it's just 'meh', the problem is we get the explicit US series imported over and unchanged, whereas they have to remake it and water it down to the point where it's shit. Inbetweeners felt like one of few true representations of younger people today and now it just seems that whole promo was trying to explain the name of the show. The cast aren't even as nerdy as the intention in the original, I just don't get why you can do something half-assed and churn it out. /rant

What annoys me the most is they're copying the exact jokes from the UK series, only badly. If that was the fucking intent, then why not just air our fucking VERSION?! EH?! RIDDLE ME THAT MTV?! It's just so annoying how much they've misunderstood the show. Our Inbetweeners was so real and thats why we loved it so much. This US version looks gossy and as you said, watered down.

The Inbetweeners is truly British comedy and I just don't think it translates well at all to America. It just doesn't work. Not that I can really speak for the Americans, but yeah, it's not their style right? The main reason The Inbetweeners is so hilarious is because it is so, so relatable to all those dweeby Brits, and does not work in the cliché, social circle, popularity contest world of American high. At least imo.

I wouldn't call The Inbetweeners 'black comedy' - I'd call it 'British comedy' - they can't do British comedy. The Inbetweeners works so well because it is British comedy. The essence of the Inbetweeners relates perfectly with British society and I don't believe it can be transferred into an American scenario. Hell, I could be wrong, but in that case, they can make their own fucking show In a nutshell, this is a terrible idea.

America can't do Black Comedy? Uh, Pulp Fiction, Fargo, Royal Tenenbaums, Harold and Maude, Barton Fink, Dr. Strangelove and The Big Lebowski? You're really talking about two different things here to be honest. But here's the thing, we still have the best comedy show there is, so who cares.
