Seriously? There isn't a thread for this? New Series just started. The Impossible Astronaut (Part 1)and Day of the Moon (Part 2)Best single-hour television episode of the 2011 season (as well as episode title). It was absolutely brilliant. Cinematic, emotional, brilliantly written, acted (Karen Gillian spilled her heart out for the scene) and directed. In all honesty, would give this an A+.

I loved it too! Great episode, although you could tell the episode was mostly set up. Thats okay, though, because the pay off will be tremendous I think. I very was shocked when the Doctor was killed. Great stuff. ;D

I'm loving the new season. But I saw David Tennant on a youtube with him talking to Graham Norton and that's depressed me. I miss him so so much.

I've been thinking of watching This show for quite some time now, but I don't really know where to start. From the beginning? Or should I jump into the middle of it? When in that case?

If you want to start from the "beginning," there are two routes. Literally, from the beginning, when the series started at 1963.
OR
You can start from when Russel T. Davies came in and, dare I say, "rebooted" the series with Eccleston. In that case, you can start with the 2005 revival. Series 6, which I would recommend best.

I watched an episode last night, tuned in towards the end. Had no idea what was going on but my God, it's so emotionally epic. The acting coupled with the score seemed to make it come across about 10 times more dramatic than it actually was. Despite that, I didn't really have any idea what was going on, despite being in awe of it, and so probably won't watch it again hah

Have you seen the new rumour the British Tabloids are spreading? That hottie who played Irene Adler in Moffats "Sherlock" is the front runner to take over as the first female doctor which we'll see happen at the end of this coming series (so sometime next year to coincide with the 50th Anniversary).

I honestly don't see it happening. Not that I've got any problem with Lara Pulver taking over, though I think there are better potential actresses for the role, but because Matt Smith had said he doesn't want to leave anytime soon and I doubt the producers would push him out.

The British Tabloids are rarely right about Doctor Who. I can't see it happening at all. Two years ago it was Cathrine Tate who was gonna be the new Doctor. :s

They weren't far off to be fair! She was the assistant and they were spot on when Freema Agyeman (<3) took over. It's weird, I wonder what Jenna-Louise Coleman will be like, following years worth of brassy cockneys like Martha and Donna, trailer trash like Rose (and Donna) and ...Amy (meh) she comes off a lot more middle-class than any of the modern day assistants, might be a bit of a risk.

No, after she'd been Donna, they said she'd become the next regeneration. Instead we got Matty. That rumour just seemed crazy to me. Why cast her as the assistant and then the doctor? Doesn't fit. I'm actually an Amy fan but Miss Coleman should bring a great new dynamic to the show. I heard she's playing an Alien?
