Do you mean every beginning starts from some other beginnings end, Johno? I think it's fine to take aspects and add your own swerve to it but books are marketed too so i wouldn't be too fond of someone using it direct like if Larry Trotter and the Sociologists Pebble comes up it won't be getting my vote Yeah, don't use the same title or characters, but keeping part of the premise and adding your own spins and twists to it shouldn't be a problem, but I could be wrong. |

Question: This idea can't be based off a book, right? It needs to be a totally original idea? Hmm, the contest is more about the pitch, rather than the idea itself. So long as you make it your own, and the pitch is original, I don't see why not. " Based" is the key word here.  So yes, feel free to use another idea as the basis for your own, but straight up plagiarism or just recycling an idea without making it your own will not be accepted. I have no doubt you can't come up with your own fresh idea though. |
