Why do we not have a thread for this amazing show already?? WHY?! Let's discuss Game of Thrones... Favourite character and why? Theories for the future? Discussion on epic events (mainly, red wedding). I suppose this thread will contain spoilers. So like, my favourite character is totally Cersei, because she's a fearless diva, who reminds me of myself. If I were a fearless diva. But I fear she will die soon (probably end of Book 6 maybe?). At the very least she won't make it through to the end. I pretty much always disliked Catelyn, so I'm glad that's over...

I wonder if they'll cut the Zombie Cat storyline... Having Michelle Fairley on standby just to return for a small non speaking role seems a bit odd to me. Also, they're currently casting the pure badass that is Oberyn Martell WOOOOOOOO! And as for Cersei dying, last night I realised something. Only the good honourable characters tend to die in ASoIaF right? So what if death is the blessing? What if the bad characters stick around because living in this cruel world is true punishment? I think Cersei will last and last but my god she will suffer.

Yeah, it depends I guess if Zombie Cat actually plays more of a role in the later story, but I doubt she'll feature unless that happens. It's a great twist, but only if it actually adds something to the plot.
Iunno about your death theory though, I mean, lots of honourable characters have died right? RIGHT? -desperately tries to think of one- Tywin?

I was never a fan of zombie Cat so i'd gladly see them do away with that. I'm more surprised by the fact they butchered Talisa, seeing as Jeyne Westerling lived through the Red Wedding if memory serves. But seeing as Jeyne was largely pointless following Robb's death, it made more of an impact to have Talisa massacred along with the rest of them.
How awesome would it be if the finale started with some sick fuck sewing the wolf head onto Robb's body? Just a thought.
And the death theory does make sense, cause it does tend to be the righteous and noble ones who find themselves devoid of a head in ASoIaF. I think Tywin may be the only one. You could maybe make a case for Lysa Arryn/Tully, but then again she was more mental than dishonourable. Now I think about it though, there's Viserys as well. Felt up his own sister, whored her out to Drogo, said he'd let the Dothraki horses fuck her. Not a pleasant individual. Met a gruesome end ... I could spend all day talking about this shit.

Personally, I think Tywin could be argued as a good guy. Strong resound morals, stuck by his family and honour etc. I mean anyone else in the ASoIaF universe would have dropped Tyrion the moment he was born down a well, but Tywin gritted his teeth and raised him (even if he does express his hate towards him).

yeah but he also did stuff like fuck shae following tyrion's trial ... which really wasn't necessary. he's also fucked over almost every figure of authority he's come into contact with to manoeuvre his family into a better position. marrying cersei to robert wasn't really for the good of cersei knowing robert still held a flame for ned's sister, and given how miserable it made her. it was all pretty much to elevate himself.
i think the worst person in the series though is walder frey (other than the bastard obviously). cold hearted bastard, treats his family members like shit and yet keeps them under his control through the guise of loyalty and family honour. the red wedding. need i say anymore? i'd love to see him meet a gruesome end.

Here's a question for ya: which minor characters death upsets you the most? Mine would be Oberyn's death at the hands of the Moutain. That was such a terrific moment in the book. Full of emotion and heart racing tension.
My second death which upset me was poor Kevan Lannister. The only decent Lannister (other than Tyrion) and he dies at the hands of spiders just because he tried to restore his family's honour. Him cussing down Cersei was epic.
