Dayum. Never heard of Elbow, but I guess I should look into them, that song was badass.
10/10
Band my dad listened to religiously when I was younger, this was always my favorite by them.

Glad you enjoyed Elbow. "Grounds for Divorce" live is earth shattering.
Anyways---
BRITISH INVASION!!!! Good old Billy Idol. Great story song. I loved it. That gorgeous breakdown from 3mins with the dramatic piano and the epic riffs on top... Mhmmm... Something bittersweet about it. I really enjoyed it. I do enjoy a bitta Billy Idol every now and then.
Right, since you enjoyed Elbow so much, I thought I'd show a contrast in their music. This is from their third album.
8/10
It's a slow burner of a song but the lyrics and meaning literally make me cry. It's a song about seeing a face in a crowd (or in this case a bus i.e the lyric "move down the aisle of the last bus home") and imagining getting married on the bus to that person lol.
The lyric "you were the sun in my sunday morning" gives me goosebumps. Ah, Elbow <3
Listen closely now...

Ooh, great song, great band. Heard of em before but never really gave em a listen, but this is really good. Gonna' have to get on to listening to more. I really love the sound of this song, it's very slow but very... I dunno, something in the lead singer's voice is gripping. 9/10

People also think I joke when I say I adore Daft Punk... Put the two together, I get some major parties in my pants. Love it. <3 LET'S GET LOST TONIGHT, YOU CAN BE MY BLACK KATE MOSS TONIGHT! 9/10 Party excellence. Ok, one of my favourite musical themes from a film. One of my favourite films too, for the record. Oh God, Yes. Any Western theme gets at least an 8 by default, but one from a GREAT Western, let a lone a GREAT theme to a great Western... well.
10/10
I'll counter it with my personal favorite, however.

Both pieces... Just... 10/10 isn't possibly a high enough score. I adore Westerns and the Spaghetti Westerns are by far the greatest sub genre ever. Love both pieces so much and I actually listen to them both a lot on Spotify... No joke. 1000000/1000000 Now to share one that get's me weepy. The great Paul Simon and his American Tune <3 The lyrics of this song really hit home

Wow just an amazing choice there - Simon was definitely the talent behind that pairing. I can't give it anything less than a 10 because that guy's a legend. Haven't really heard of that one before, but Bridge over troubled Water has to be one of my all time favourite songs *cries* Anyway - I'll go modern with this song that's been in my head a while now. * Plus Johno, if you like that song you should go here: www.najle.com/idaft/

That banjo like sound that opens it. Sweet. Oooo, vocals now. Nice and calm. I like it. Can't really understand what she's saying, but I like it. Chorus now... Like a collage of sound. Had a kinda festival feel to it. I can see it being something special live. I really dug it. 8/10P.s; Bridge Over Troubled Water kills me every time OS. I'ma gonna share--- Love Lost- The Temper Trap P.s, I love this video.

^^That was interesting, a strange video to match a strange song. Very odd and not usually something I'd listen to, but I really appreciate the style and the song's production value. 7/10

Beat beat beat beat, dance! I love it! So different, almost a clash of sound. Love the vocals, not your norm. Short sweet and catchy. Dug it. 8/10
I've recently lit a love affair with an English Band who sound ever so American; Alabama 3. They're probably best known for The Sopranos using one of their songs for the opening theme. But here is another little delight from them.

Right, I can take pop music. I listen to it every weekend. You have no idea how many times I've danced to this song. Sweated, got off to, even figered a girl on the dance floor to this track. One thing I find really interesting lately is how dance music has slowly become Pop music. Back in the 90's and even the 00's, you wanted to hear dance clubby music, you go to a club. Now, you wanna hear dance music, turn the radio on and listen to the top 40. Odd times we live in... Anyways, love this tune. That's what it is. It's a tune. It's a party hard, sweaty bodies, don't stop dancing tune. I'm sharing a live cover--- Guy Garvey (lead singer of Elbow <3) covering a Joni Michell song; River. Beautiful stuff

Very nice. I like Guy Garvey a lot, and this is a very awesome cover. I'd love to get a version with cleaner audio.
9/10
Bottle up and Explode - Elliott Smith
I think Smith and Jeff Buckley are probably the two artists who, in my opinion, could've really been big forces in music if they'd of survived just a bit longer.
RIP

TIME TO REVIVE THIS THREAD.
Can't believe I didn't see this song -- the vocals are so... I don't know. There's something so sincere about it, & the lyrics are really good. Really a very good song. 9/10.
This song never fails to calm me on a bad day... her vocals are just so beautiful.

Ceb, never noticed you posted! I love that song. Great beat and catchy tune. Something a little Lennon/ Maccartney about it. I really loved the subtle strings in the background. Lovely song.
8/10
Johno, I loved that other Neko Case song you posted and that one was beautiful. She has such a soft and gorgeous voice, yet it still manages to be powerful. "I wish I was the mooooon tonight" <3 Really loved how stripped back the first minute was then that lovely guitar came in with some soft chords. Happy song= Happy Jest.
8/10
I wanna share---

I don't think I've ever found a Regina Spektor song that I haven't liked. In fact I don't think I've ever found one that I haven't loved from the moment I've heard it. It's just the way she makes you happy and sad at the same time.
8.5/10
As soon as I heard this track, I knew that I had to use it in Teach:

Regina rocks. I adore her. <3
Right, your song... Oh man... Wow. That open 20 seconds was excellent. Something very 70's about it at first. Felt a little bit like, "Feeling Good". And then the french singer starts. No idea what she's on about but thats the beauty of music; I feel it! <3 She sounds like a french Paloma Faith (in fact it really sounds like a Paloma Faith song called "Romance is Dead". I love world music so I really dug it. Up beat, catchy and very summery. This is an acoustic version (kinda) of one of my favourite songs off of Madonna's latest album. Love this song so much, the lyrics are pretty clever with the world play. I love love love it.
I'm gonna share----

Madonna is awesome. Always and forever. I love all her songs and this one was no exception. The music enveloped my senses as I was listening to it and the way she belts out the lyrics....amazing.
